چکیده
In this paper, we propose autostereoscopic displays with novel directional backlight designs. A high level of stereoscopic crosstalk is the main problem to be solved in conventional systems. To reduce crosstalk, a system that suppresses effect field curvature only single layer curved lens array. It confirmed reduced notably by proposed methods. The uniformity intensity also increased using array composed trapezoid elemental lenses place rectangle lenses.

Viewing zone of an autostereoscopic display with a directional backlight using a convex lens array
When a directional backlight to each eye alternates synchronously with the alternation of left-eye and right-eye images on the display panel, the viewer can see a stereoscopic image without wearing special goggles. One way to realize a directional backlight is to place a convex lens array in front of dot matrix light sources to generate collimated light. To implement this method, however, defoc...
متن کاملTime-multiplexed autostereoscopic camera system
A camera system has been developed to provide live 3D video input for a time-multiplexed autostereoscopic display. The system is capable of taking video input from up to sixteen sources and multiplexing these into a single video output stream with a pixel rate an order of magnitude faster than the individual input streams. Both monochrome and colour versions of the system have been built. Testi...
متن کاملTime - multiplexed color autostereoscopic display
A practical color autostereoscopic display has been developed at Cambridge, and has been in operation since 1994. It provides six view directions at half VGA resolution (640 × 240 pixels) of 24-bit color at a luminance of 100 cd/m2. Each individual view direction is refreshed at standard television rates, so the display is capable of full motion animation or live 3D video. Versions with both 10...
متن کاملTime-multiplexed three-dimensional displays based on directional backlights with fast-switching liquid-crystal displays.
An autostereoscopic display using a directional backlight with a fast-switching liquid-crystal (LC) display was designed and fabricated to obtain a better perception of 3D images by enhanced resolution and brightness. A grooved light guide in combination with an asymmetric focusing foil was utilized to redirect the emitting cones of light to the left and right eyes, respectively. By designing t...
متن کاملMulti-Viewer Autostereoscopic Display with Dynamically-addressable Holographic Backlight
An autostereoscopic display system, which allowed multiple viewers simultaneously by use of head-tracking, was previously demonstrated for TV applications in the ATTEST project. However, the requirement for a dynamically addressable, movable backlight presented several problems for the illumination source. In this paper, the authors demonstrate how the use of a novel laser-based holographic pro...
